Walk and Windows
The first part of the day was a walk. It was actually a pre-breakfast walk but since the picture was taken just after noon you understand that the first meal of the day is not so important for us. We walked through "Pettersson's forest". Mr Pettersson, the farmer, always kept his forest in immaculate condition. If a tree fell he was there the next day, removing it. Here the lower branches are all trimmed away and any younger trees have been removed so it's easy to see through the forest and the floor is green with moss and grass.
Once home we did break our fast and then it was outside again to work on one of the windows at Betty's.
We took the outside windows off, which was not an easy job. It required a crowbar to lift the windows as the hinges had rusted a little. Crowbars and windows are not a good mix but we managed without breaking anything.
Now Jan will re-putty the windows and repaint them, but first they have to thoroughly dry out. We are due some rain soon so I covered the empty hole with assorted pieces of plastic and silver tape. It looks a mess but I'm fairly sure it will keep the rain outside, and help keep the warmth inside. Jan has written about this and you can see in her blip the window inside her work room, ready to be worked on. I thought I'd post an extra showing what I was up to on the outside of the building.
I have also just posted yesterday's blip, with an extra of a scythe, found in a forest clearing. That raised my eyebrows a little.
