The Pit
Today's image was shot just around the corner from our house. It's taken from the perimeter path around what we have always called "The Pit" (although it's official title is "The Hollow").
It's a grass covered playground that we used to spend huge amounts of time in when we were kids. It's an area that appears to have been left over when our estate was built in the early 60's. We called it "The Pit" because you have to descend down into it from the every side - it must be a drop of over 15 feet from the top to the bottom. This was particularly advantageous in the winter when it snowed as the slopes would provide the perfect environment for sledding.
I liked the combination of the arcs drawn on the fence, the rooftops, the wispy clouds, the area of burnt grass and even that curious boulder leaning against the bottom of the fence.
