How Much is That Doggy in the Window

We bought this ornament, probably about thirty years ago, not long after we got our first collie, as it looked so like her. We haven’t had a dog for the past five years but couldn’t bear to get rid of the ornament. Normally it sits by the fire but, with half the carpet missing now, it currently sits on the windowsill - much to the amusement of passers by who sometimes do a double take when they spot it. Especially those who remember our last dog, as she used to spend a lot of time sitting in front of the window, watching the world go by.
Good progress by the painter today. We left him to it and he really cracked on without me chatting to him about guitars and music! I reckon he’ll be finished tomorrow - Wednesday lunchtime at the latest, depending on how much snagging there is to be sorted.
Caught up on emails and bills today. Quite a few emails advertising shows and concerts, some of which I went ahead and booked. Factor in all the shows postponed from this year, and it looks like 2022 is going to be quite busy on the entertainment front. Mind you, one show is happening a lot sooner than I thought. An email from The Lowry advertised tickets for a recording of the Radio 4 show “I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue” in November 2022. I’ve been to one of these before and it’s a really fun evening so I went ahead and booked. It was only when the e-tickets arrived in my inbox a few minutes later that I spotted the date was actually November 2021. A week today to be precise! A quick phone call revealed that the original email was a typo, it’s definitely next Monday and did I want to cancel? As it happens, we are free next Monday so not a problem, and we’ll get to enjoy the show a year earlier than anticipated.
Really should have made time to go to the gym today but, after all the frenetic activity of last week, it was quite nice just having a day doing basically nothing. But must go tomorrow or I’ll get out of the habit!
