jeni and the beans

Joy!

Full day playing today. Playdough and biscuit fun in the morning: I made rainbow biscuits (blog link to follow) and Bear played with playdough. Bean was helping me until he declared he didn't like the smell of the biscuits (vanilla sugar!) and wanted the playdough (olbas) instead!! He watched tv while I put the Bear to bed for a nap, then we cleared up and got the biscuits off the oven tray. He decided he wasn't going to eat any because they weren't chocolate. All the more for us then - they are yummy! I'll be making sugar cookies more often. Probably with chocolate in them.

Ran out to the shop for eggs and potatoes, and made chips for lunch with egg and cress sandwiches.

Ok it was afternoon tea by the time it was all cooked. But it was good. The forestry commission paid a visit to our little ressurection garden and now half the cress forest has been cut down, leaving a cress copse on top of the hill tomb.

After lunch we played in the garden as the sun was shining. Still bitterly cold, but the boys had so much fun. Bear discovered the playhouse and shrieked with delight to be able to play peekaboo! Bean rediscovered his climbing frame and bounced all over it.

And we inspected the tadpoles in the bucket. They are growing at a much slower rate than the ones in the house. Bucket tadpoles are just starting to unfurl whereas the house tadpoles are definitely tadpoles and trying to wiggle their way out of their jelly.

No email from Steve this evening :( Hope the Bear has a better night. Two nights now he's woken up in the small hours and sobbed and screamed because something was wrong and he just wanted to sleep but couldn't. Here's hoping.
