Today's the day ...................... to build a castle

It was Raine that put me in mind of going to the beach today with Tessa and Josie, with us on a sleepover.  Of course going to the beach in New Zealand in the middle of their summer is quite a different thing from Kirkcudbright in early January - but we were undaunted.

And, of course, as everyone knows, it makes no difference what season we're in - give a child a bucket and spade on a beach and they will build a sandcastle.  In the middle of it all, the sun set behind the hill and everything went the most amazing pinkish purple colour (see extra).

It was the place to be  .................
