Timber

Today's the day .......................... to clear the damage

On 27th November, the day after Storm Arwen  had raged through the country the previous night, causing all sorts of damage - we had a visit from a distraught elderly neighbour up the road from us.  The high winds had caused several of the large trees in her garden to blow down.  She was marooned in the house because one of them had blocked the drive and she was unable to get her car out.

It all turned out fine because son Rob (with his chainsaw) just happened to be here that night for the Whisky Tasting.  He and Will went up to the house and soon had the tree cut into manageable chunks so that the driveway was clear again.  Our neighbour, who was absolutely delighted as you can imagine, gave us a bottle of proper champagne to say thanks - but she also said that we could have the wood, if Will could take it away.

And that was what we were doing today.  There were two trailer-loads of timber like this one that I'm sure will come in very handy next winter ................
