2021 Saturday — The Back Bay
The afternoon was getting late as we walked the sidewalk that cuts a path alongside the Embarcadero. We usually just walk a short distance beyond Tidelands Park and into the “business district” of the Embarcadero. We often turn around at Estero Inn.
Today we were caught with wonder as we quietly watched the sailor on his sailboat. So many questions spring to my lips: Where have you been? Where are you goin? How long have you been on the water? But I did not utter one word of those thoughts to him. We just passed by silently admiring a world that is foreign to us.
On our way to return to the house, we drove past the Shell Shop. We stop in there occasionally and see shells from around the world available for sale.
Walking this sidewalk, seeing the moored boats, and stopping in at the “mom & pop” small businesses are the things that relax us, comfort us, and satisfy us. We look forward to this and do it often; our two pups love, love, love this adventure.
We’re going to wander through October filling our thoughts with wonder.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
