Lots of artichokes

As it was a sunny day I went to the allotment to dig some Jerusalem artichokes. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to dig  lots in a short time. After all the rain we have had the soil is very moist. A good yield, I brought home about 2kg of large tubers and put the small ones in the compost bin.

I blipped an artichoke photo at the end of September when they were not ready to harvest as very small….but I had dug some up to enter the allotment produce show and won a prize!
