The allotment social calendar!

When I went to the allotment today I saw this poster on the notice board. Lots of events starting with advice on pruning fruit trees!  We have just one plum tree which last year had very few fruit but in 2020 we had loads. I think it’s the amount of water in the summer and conditions at pollination time that makes the difference, not pruning!

It’s the first time they have published all the dates so long I advance…maybe someone new on the committee? But good to get in the diary now.
The cafe is open for coffee and homemade cake every Sunday morning from March.

Very chilly so I did not stay long but started cutting back raspberry canes . Not a good crop last year so hopefully better this year if enough rain.
