A flash of sun

What turned out to be a wet walk this afternoon was enlivened by a brief burst of red light from the embers of the setting sun escaping through a small rent in the the clouds to light the upper branches of these trees.

It was down to earth with a bump after last week’s amazing experience. It all felt rather flat. And cold despite being many degrees higher than in the Dolomites.

We walked to Marks snd Spencer’s to buy a Valentines meal for two only to find they didn’t do one - or they hadn’t any left. We saw them in Tesco’s and heard about them in Waitrose. In the end we had an Indian meal for two which was very acceptable indeed.
