TGI... T?
Friday eve, woo hoo.
I went to give blood after work and, on the way down there, a couple of questions occurred to me:
1. How does a tree decide which way its branches will grow? I mean, if it was just a matter of maximum sunlight, surely they'd all grow straight upwards...
2. At what age do we stop jumping? Walking along behind a man, with a little boy holding his hand, and every third step or so was a jump, high or far.
And, whilst I was there, I was wondering how the body regenerates that pint of blood you've just lost. With no help from anyone or anything, it just knows that you've lost some blood and it needs to make it up. So it does. Flippin' miraculous.
Whilst I was having my hot chocolate and orange Club biscuit afterwards, a young girl was asking one of the nurses how it is that they can always use the same vein, when heroin addicts have to find a new one every time ;-)
You learn something new every day.

ps completely unrelated photo - this is our Great Hall, where degree ceremonies are held. It's beautiful inside too, but that's for another blip!
