International Bagpipe Day

There seems to be an international day for almost everything these days. As bagpipes have been in play since at least 400 BC perhaps they are especially worthy beneficiaries of their own day.

What we all need now is a day to secure a lasting peace around the world as soon as possible.

On the way to collect the boys from school we saw an estate agent’s sign that challenged our understanding of English grammar. It read “I got owned”. What happened to the old fashioned “Sold”?!
