Bugs are Back
We are expecting rain for much of the week. Hubby and I headed outside early and made great progress getting rid of the liriope. Hubby started putting down new mulch around our shrubs while I continued the more intricate task. These adorable candytuft blooms caught my eye. That tiny bee was gathering nectar. There were various other insects buzzing around the garden especially where I was removing liriope from the creeping phlox. I had to quit mid afternoon to take Parker to his math tutoring session. Hubby got his second booster today. I go Wednesday. It may not be necessary but there is sure to be some with COVID in the huge crowds we’ll be with at The Passion Play later in the summer. I made us a chicken pot pie and slaw for dinner. We will actually have dinner at a reasonable hour tonight. Mack and Chris stopped by to pick up the cookies my mother made for the kids. With all that hard work in the garden, this old body is ready to call it a night. Thanks for the visit and especially for all the nice comments about Kim. We saw some unbelievable photos from Ukraine tonight. The mass graves break my heart. Be safe. “If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its loveliness.” – Therese of Lisieux
