Not As It Was Meant To Be

I saw the pond skaters flitting about all over the pond, so I grabbed the camera and spent ages lying at the edge of the pond trying to get a decent close-up of one of them.
This was the clearest one I got, but it is kind of lost against the background. I wanted a clearer background (as opposed to a clearer backside). 
After taking these pictures (and the one in ripples) the skaters vanished. I have no idea where they they went to but I lay there for flipping ages waiting for them to come back (they didn't). While I was waiting I photographed the tiny flowers and leaves (and the feather) that drifted past and watched the thousands of tadpoles.
