WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

By lizzie_birkett

On Fiddlesticks!

It was a very dull and cold morning with a bit of drizzle but we went to the boat anyway with Amelia and Lucy - a first!
We’ve had a lovely time with them. They enjoyed travelling down to Skipton
and having a go at steering, then playing dominoes with Granddad and then some painting. (Extra)
We got chips from Busy Lizzie’s for lunch. After a rest the weather perked up and was sunny so I took them and Bella to Airedale park which has a fabulous playground, while Frank had a nap. They had great fun but Lucy ended up covered in mud down one side when she fell over and she was not happy!
They’re fast alseep in our bed now and we will sleep on the sofa bed.

There’s a hedge that we always pass and the noise from the sparrows is tremendous.

Sparrows

On the tow path is a dense hawthorn hedge
that is teeming with little sparrows.
Stand very still and look to the interior
and they’ll get used to your presence,
you’ll see them hopping and fluttering
through the lower branches.
What a racket they make tweeting and chirping,
then popping up on the flat clipped surface.
Watching them so closely fills me with delight
I leave with a smile on my face.

Thank you so much for all the recent comments, stars and hearts Blippers.
Goodnight ;-)X
