Bluebells and Green Alkanet

Hard to believe that last year we cleared this bed of bluebells and greenalkanet. There is plenty of both in the wild end of the garden but these, Spanish non-native bluebells and robust and persistant alkanet has got to go!  I have perennials in this bed that will never make it out. I spent most of the afternoon in the garden and planted out some rather pot bound foxgloves so we’ll see how they do.  I am glad to have my raised beds for sweet peas and dahlias this year.
The wallflowers and tulips are lovely though.

Nature and farming notes.  Walked alongside the asparagus field this morning and the spears are coming up!
