Along Those Country Roads

We left the farm around 8:15 am. We could not have asked for better traveling weather. Hubby decided to take a very country road on the first leg of the trip. The 1.5 lane road is unpaved and full of potholes (bottom rt photo provides typical view) but the scenery is beautiful. Most of these photos were taken along that route. We had several stops planned on the way home. The Ohio Rural King did not have my birdseed so we visited the one in Morgantown. Success! Hubby also exchanged some jeans. Next stop was for gas where the prices were “best”. We had a tasty lunch at a Cracker Barrel in MD and I won’t have to worry about preparing dinner. Last stop was at the bakery to get Parker’s donuts and a few other thank you gifts. No luck; the baker said they haven’t been able to get the necessary ingredients so she isn’t sure when they will have donuts again. I sent photos of other choices and let the boy pick a substitute-pecan sticky buns that looked luscious. We bought Momma treats at both stores since she preferred not to go in. She will have a special breakfast muffin to perk her up if loneliness sets back in tomorrow. We have had a few traffic incidents. A lady failed to check her blind spot and missed us by inches as she merged. Then three cars ran a red light and crossed in front of us and three other lanes of traffic. We are still 1.5 hours from home. Protect us Lord, please! I detest heavy traffic. Sure hope you each had a stress free day. Have not heard details from the US/Ukraine meeting. Hopefully, some positive actions will result. Thanks for stopping by. “There is a serene and settled majesty to woodland scenery that enters into the soul and delights and elevates it, and fills it with noble inclinations.” - Washington Irving
