Kitisuru
I’m in Nairobi for however many days it takes for my Tanzania paperwork to come through. I had an excellent recommendation to stay in Kitisuru, an area on the outskirts of the city. When I had a trot around in the midday sun I was surprised by both how semi-rural the area was, with farmland and banana fronds popping up everywhere, and how rapidly it appeared to be changing. New plots are being carved out, fences erected and residential blocks constructed. Every time I come to Nairobi I remember how much of a boomtown it is, and places like Kitisuru are seeing the outward creep of city limits.
