Jubilee postbox!

This postbox very near us has just received its Jubilee topper. At Easter it had chicks etc. not sure who is doing it but a very nice touch. Difficult to get a good photograph as not inspiring backgrounds on any side!
I noticed lots of Jubilee flags today and plan to go to London soon to see the ones there. 
Today a friend who lives on Trowlock Island came round and told us about all the celebrations they have planned…Thursday drinks outside her house on a communal lawn area, Friday a flotilla of boats going from the island to Hampton Court and back( all the boats will be decked out and those on them have to wear red, white and blue). She is going on a smart boat which is moored on the island and said that when they did this once before they got loads of cheers going through Kingston etc because people thought it was an official Royal flotilla! Then on the Saturday they are having a barbecue and music on the island. A very good residents committee, which now only has women on it, is doing the organising!

If it’s not raining I plan to put out a bit of bunting tomorrow, left over form 2012 and Empire Day.
