Friday: Acanthus Spinosus & Pennywort

We've had a howling gale ALL DAY - it was supposed to quieten down this afternoon but late evening now and still blowing :-(((
Very sunny and warm in spite of the wind. I had my morning tea indoors, MrD out on his deliveries, then got my secateurs, loppers, assorted gloves & green bin and pruned a bit more of the Cherry Laurel (Prunus laurocerasus) at the front, saving the long straight branches to make a wigwam for the runner beans.
Whilst I still had the energy I cleared ivy, honeysuckle, dead globe artichoke spikes in order to give breathing space for alliums and hemereocallis (Day Lilies) - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2159403 and my favourite Blip photos https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2480100337596237759 - apologies if you've seen them before ...
Acanthus Spinosus, common name "Spiny Bear's Breeches", more here - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2453301098564292129
"Pennywort" Umbilicus rupestris - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2946875105055082287
Weekend starts here, hope yours is relaxing and enjoyable xxxx xxx xx
Stay safe & healthy & happy everyone :-)
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
