Morning Prayer

Darn if it doesn't look like a horizontal rainbow there at the edge of the fog! I think it's an artifact, because I didn't notice it as I walked along, trained observer that I am. People leave little offerings on the top of the bins, usually a piece of fruit, sometimes a lost toy or a baby's shoe, today a bright flower. It was a slow amble for me this morning, but full of interesting sights. The cormorants, of course, bigger and rowdier than yesterday. An assortment of surfers and dogs. A seagull having breakfast (Extra). After shaking that large fish into oblivion, the gull managed to swallow the entire thing--I still am not sure how that was possible--and flew off over the sea. I had to take a nap after all that excitement.
