Friday: Salsify Seed Head …

… which was in flower a few weeks ago

Very still and pleasant warm morning, I potted up the 4 plants of runner bean “Scarlet Emperor” from last year, mulched it with grass mowings and mulched the courgette plants and the Cavollo Nero planted yesterday.
Wind picked up mid-afternoon, I dashed out to put the lids on the clear plastic storage boxes protecting the seedlings. 
Rain arrived around 4:30pm, but the wind dropped and I was glad for both. The ground and planters are very dry.
Extra photo of a pretty blue Cranesbill / Geranium which just appeared near the washing line!
