St. Andrews Final Green ...
... at today's conclusion of this year's Open in Scotland. As an American I''m always tempted to refer to The British Open, but for the Brits it's simply The Open. The St. Andrews old course (which you see here) is the most hallowed golf course in the world, and it was wonderful to be able to follow the tournament's final days this weekend. The American TV commentators were staying in a hotel overlooking the course (probably on the upper right)--the lucky bums :)
Oh yes--the winner? Cameron Smith of Australia, by a single stroke, at 20 under par. Rory Mcilroy of Northern Ireland started the day ahead by two strokes, but lost ground as the round went on.
