The Pheasant In The Garden

As opposed to the elephant in the room.

We were on the road to Inverness by 10am.
I would have preferred 9am but 'The Boss' said No!

There was a stop on the outskirts of Perth for a drink and then back on the road.
The traffic was fairly heavy but we didn't really get held up (knowing which lane to be in a major junctions meant that we didn't get held up.
There was one lunatic who tried to run me off the road at one point .... I was overtaking him towards the end on a section of duel carriageway and was going to pull in behind a lorry but this idiot  suddenly accelerated and shut the gap. If I had baked anything could have happened as I would have been braking hard on loose gravel and dust .... So I accelerated and passed the lorry (I could see there was a safe gap before any opposing traffic arrived). That confused and upset him.
A few miles later on he nearly wiped out another car that was overtaking him. A driver you definitely want behind you.....

When we arrived in Inverness we went and worked out where we are going to be able to park within walking distance (everywhere around the church is permit holders only).
The we had the fun game of finding the house where  SWMBO's brother and his daughter and family are staying. It is  in the middle of nowhere down single lane dirt tracks ........ but it does have fabulous views.

We had a great afternoon and evening with various relations and their families turning up.

The biggest laugh was when the brother-in-law was stung on the nose when teaching his daughter's partner how to polish brogues properly (he has never had shoes that needed polishing!!!!!!).
