Town Crier

A bit of a hurriedly snatched picture today, in the midst of a very busy day. Chester’s town crier was just starting his proclamation as we went past, and I paused to listen to what he was saying. Quite an amusing little speech showing off his ability to welcome people in a variety of languages. He finished by asking if there was anyone in the crowd from Australia. Having ascertained that there was, he looked at his scroll, turned it slowly and deliberately upside down and then uttered the words “G’day Mate”. A no doubt well rehearsed routine which went down well with the assembled throng.
Took mum to the bank this morning, to speak to her manager. This afternoon was a meeting with Social Services. This is all as a result of her having been defrauded by some dodgy builders. Once I mentioned that a Power of Attorney was in the process of being set up, everyone seemed to lose interest. As I suspected, no practical help was forthcoming so it’s going to be down to me to sort things out.
We’re off to see the musical Chicago tonight. Originally booked in 2019 it was rescheduled, then cancelled, then rescheduled again! I’ve still got the same seats I originally booked, but I think the cast is totally different to that advertised three years ago.
It will be a nice way to unwind after a somewhat stressful day.
