River of Flowers

Saturday: Aliens in the Garden

Raining when we got up, continued all morning - thank you very much :-))
Family tree this morning then a few visits to the garden during the afternoon.
Whilst wandering around the garden noticed lots of strange and wonderful things growing, from left to right:

Seed cases of Cape Gooseberry which I grew for many years, fruit had disintegrated but the seeds germinated and now have lots of seedlings to transplant, if I can keep them alive over winter maybe fruit next year!

Chick pea seedlings - seeds were free and I didn’t expect them to grow as I’ve had them in box for a while. Looking forward to see what their flowers will look like!

In my big compost bin it looks like I’ve got mushrooms or toadstools - a small creature has already found them and had a nibble!

Phacellia seed heads, https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2993255869275180173 - which I’ll collect when they’ve dried properly. It’ll be interesting to see if any birds like them.

A rosebay willow herb - possibly Greater Willowherb (epilobium hirsutum) identified with help from The Illustrated Flora of Britain & Northern Europe but always happy to be corrected by an expert!

It started raining again around 6pm, which is very welcome!
Stay safe & healthy & happy everyone :-)
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
