Today's the day ............................. to perform

This is the only picture that I took today. It's Mike - our accompanist at our choir practices back in Kendal - and today what they call the Continuo- playing the organ part in our performance of the Messiah tonight.

The concert took place in a sports hall in the small village of St Blaise du Buis, about 10 miles from Voiron. It was packed to the gunnels - around 500 people of all shapes and sizes and cultural tastes - and they loved it! They gave us a standing ovation and made us sing the Hallelujah Chorus again as an encore. And considering we were singing in English, a work which must have been quite foreign to the majority of them - it makes it all the more special.

What a night it was - long to remain in the memory ......................
