Platanos Beach (morning)

On the off chance that you haven't had enough holiday photos, here's one of the beach at Platanos. Usually we go to that little stretch of beach at the far end (pretty much in the centre of the picture), but this morning we ventured a little further 'round, parking up near the beach café so that we could grab a coffee after our swim.

It's such a luxury to be able to swim every morning and afternoon, especially as the Gulf of Corinth - or at least this part of it - is blessed with such clear water. It takes me back to when I was growing up in Hong Kong: when the opportunity presented itself, I would spend literally hours in the sea, mostly underwater.

Sometimes that would be on one of the beaches on Hong Kong island, but more often we would often stay in one of the bank's houses on Lantau - which, back then, could only be reached by ferry - or take the bank's junk, The Lady Jane, with its captain, Shek, out into the South China Seas.
