What a Grey Day!

Unfortunately we had another day of wind and rain in this part of the world. My swimming partner was too hung over to swim this morning and with the sea rather choppy I considered it foolish to go into the waves by myself. I may be mad but I’m not that mad. The Stromness Singing Selkies were thinking of dooking at high tide about 5:30pm but with the weather still miserable and very windy, I chickened out.

I met up with Poppy this morning for a coffee in Kirkwall before she had to leave for an appointment. We had enough time to splash the cash- well strictly speaking it was all very one sided today and that side wasn’t me. The shoe shop which sold me my yellow shoes in May was singled out for closer inspection and I have to say it has one of the best selection of my kind of shoes that you could find anywhere. I resisted any temptation, others didn’t!

I came back to Stromness clutching a present from Poppy of a packet of Fatty Cutties, not Westray ones but  Birsay Tea Room ones. They are very dangerous things  to eat if one is watching the calories.
