Stormy Weather

Sadly, the picture does not fully portray what the weather was doing this evening. It’s been raining for most of the day and felt quite muggy, so it always seemed like a storm was on the way. And it duly arrived around 6pm. The sky was so dark that we had to turn the lights on in the house. And then thunder and lightning overhead heralded the arrival of a torrential downpour. As I said, the picture doesn’t show the full scale of what was happening when I took it, but it proved impossible to catch the flashes of lightning or see how dark it actually was. Not to mention the noise made by the torrential rain.
One hour later and the storm has passed, it’s stopped raining and blue(ish) skies are gradually returning. We had hoped to go to the County Show tomorrow, but a forecast for weather similar to today has introduced an element of doubt. I think we just have to wait and see what tomorrow actually brings.
But it would be nice to get out and about. Apart from an hour in the gym this morning, it’s been another “nothing” day. I’m sure there were a lot of things I could have found to do around the house but, frankly, I couldn’t be bothered to go looking for them and just slumped in front of the telly! Wherever my “get up and go” has gone to, I hope it returns soon.
