Preparing for the Dunhill.

Sunday afternoon walk on the Old Course, a frequent activity for us.

Preparations are now underway for the Alfred Dunhill Championship which will be taking place during 29 September - 2 October 2022, on this course and two others near St Andrews. The Open 2022 finished on 17 July; it took months to erect and establish all of the stands, media, retail and public and corporate hospitality facilities. And then weeks to re-rig and take down, and undertake remedial work on the Course.Quite an exercise! The Dunhill is obviously a smaller event, but still with TV camera towers, miles of cabling, hospitality buildings (like the one on right at the the Road Hole green), stands and a small Golf Village, (beginning to appear now too).

William Purves Funeral Directors conveyed the Queen’s coffin by road from Balmoral to Edinburgh. A good company; they were undertakers for my wife’s mother and younger sister.
