A Leaving

We were blessed again with a sunny morning in which to swim . There were considerable fewer ladies today than the 19 present yesterday, but there must have been at least 8 of us. We were disappointed to note the removal of the buoys we swim to and the guide rope that runs from them to the slip. It meant I got further away from the shore than I had expected because of the drift and was called to attention by the others. It was a work out to swim against it to the slip.

After a shower and a tense half hour trying to make a payment on the internet, I had a coffee at Julia’s Shed and made a visit to the Library with the view, during which I borrowed a book and the Heavens opened and it poured.

I have spent the afternoon glued to the TV and the happenings at Holyrood and St Giles. It is fortuitous in a way that Queen Elizabeth, who is half Scottish, died in Scotland because we have had the opportunity to put on for her our own farewell of pomp and circumstance which otherwise we would have been denied.
I was delighted to see the warmth and respect and love that was shown by the majority of the population of Scotland during the procession of the cortège from Balmoral yesterday and her journey this afternoon from Holyrood to the service in St Giles.

My extra is a blip of the ancient crown of Scotland which was placed on her coffin during the service.
