Goodbye to Ellan Vannin.

An early start this morning 6.30 breakfast for a 7.30 departure from hotel to check in for ferry which was due to depart at 8.45.

We were allowed straight on and so had found a seat in lounge by 7.45. Sea is calm so smooth crossing in progress.

It's been a good few days - although the Isle of Man was once part of the Kingdom of the Isles along with the Hebrides and islands in the Firth of Clyde, it has a very different feel to it. The esplanade at Douglas still looks grand giving a sense of what it must have been like in its heyday.
