Queen Elizabeth II Funeral
A beautiful sunny and calm day, all day. Lovely calm and clear night, but temperatures have fallen.
Up early, and popped by Laura's on my way to work. Late shift in the airport today, and an odd day, long periods with no flights. I did a spell working with oil and gas, but mostly on the check-in desk. Our last Glasgow flight was delayed by an hour. A lovely evening for a late walk with Sammy.
After a long ten days hearing of Queen Elizabeth's life history, it's finally coming to an end with the funeral today. It was a moment in history I felt I had to watch, well a bit of it at least, and got to see more at work. A very moving funeral, especially when the bagpipes played. Another long day for the family, hopefully they might get much needed time to rest and grieve after today. It's a very public way to deal with a death, I wouldn't want it, nor wish it on any of my loved ones, must be tough for them all. Rest in peace, your Majesty. Laura had a few along this morning, Lewis on left with Olly (stays in Laura's static caravan), Elise, mam, Maisie and Anne Nicolson, then Laura. Taken in the Blett Road, Cunningsburgh.
