A busy day at work and then the weekly shop. After putting the shopping away, I made a cup of tea and went to sit in the garden. The robins were singing louder than ever - all the swallows are gone now, though. I miss their chattering.

Before I went in to make the tea, I walked round the garden as I do every day, to see how the flowers are doing. The Cosmos is looking very pretty just now - it's amazing to me that these tall and beautiful plants come from such small seeds :-)

I bought some hyacinth bulbs today - I do try and remember to do this every September but some years I forget and then have to buy ready grown plants in the spring. This year I am on the ball!
