Relaxing

Poured with rain last night but still felt mild.
Woke early and was out to greet the sunrise at 8am.  Walked towards the sun on the beach with other early risers and dog walkers.  Practically everyone greets either verbally or raising hands at their shoulder.  All adds to the convivial start to the day.

Back for coffee, breakfast and uploading photos.  Bit of reading punctuated by gazing at the changing sea, passersby and various canines.

Sunshine and the tide going out demanded a walk in the opposite direction towards the river. On the sandbank between river and sea, sadly saw a dead cygnet on the beach.  It wasn't tangled and didn't look the victim of attack.  Avian flu crossed my mind.

Back at the cottage I rang the Defra helpline for reporting dead wild birds.  I wonder if they will do anything.  Poor cygnet.

Read a bit of The Master by Colm Tóibín about Henry James's time in England and the rental of his house in Rye.

Mid afternoon headed out for a final Tuesday walk on the beach heading eastwards.  The rocks change appearance resembling bones with desert landscapes of wavy striations.
Return before the tide came in for coffee and slice of chocolate and banana loaf.
Out for pizza tonight.

A relaxing day.  Pleasant evening everyone.
