Bedshaped

There’s a scene in the Panto which involves the Dame and the Baroness’ son sharing a bed. Naturally, this being Panto, it has little to do with the plot and a lot to do with ghosts appearing so the audience can shout “behind you” at the appropriate time.
However, we don’t have enough room on stage for a full size bed and, even if we did, you wouldn’t actually be able to see the actors if they were lying down.
So this very foreshortened version has been made, and tonight Alex and Ethan got to try it out for the first time under the watchful eye of our director.
Rehearsal was the highlight of today, which has otherwise been grey and rainy. We did pop into town this morning and I tried to buy a new phone, only to be told that they had none in stock at the moment and it could be January before they did. But…if I was prepared to pay a deposit they could order one which would be here in a couple of weeks. Not sure I entirely understand how that works, but the additional carrot was dangled that I would qualify for “Black Friday” pricing if I placed the order today.
So, did I fall for the sales patter? The fact I’m now £50 out of pocket but still have an old phone is the answer to that one. I’m hoping it will all come good in due course - watch out for a dramatic improvement in photo quality in two to three week’s time…
