Mum for Christmas

Rory went off mid morning - for lots of reasons he’s doing a ‘Friendsmas’ during the day. Our plans have changed as our nearby brother’s family had to relocate to Yorkshire for the season for family reasons.  So it was just Mum and us here.  V went over to pick her up and we ate home made gravadlax, an Italian boned chicken recipe with chestnut stuffing with red cabbage and roast potatoes.  Followed by my home made mince pies from a Jocelyn Dimbleby recipe via Diana Henry on Instagram! 

I gave Mum a printed out book of her birthday party which she loved. After a late lunch she sat on the sofa zooming first with B, C and Ivy, who was a bit poorly but recovered considerably during the zoom (she loves a zoom) and then with the McHarwoods in Edinburgh.  

V drove her home around 6 and then we had a delicious soup made from left over cooked broccoli and nubs of cheddar , watched Motherland whilst I wrapped presents for tomorrow.   Lovely day but so tired this evening!
