Blast from the past

Mr C came across this when he was clearing out piles of old clutter. We couldn’t believe it had been almost 10 years ago when Any Questions came to our village hall. The audience was invited to put in questions and mine was selected. I was put on the front row and given the instructions in the blip, which also shows my question. The chair was Jonathan Dimbleby, and panellists were Lesley Riddoch, who was excellent, Mark Littlewood, David Willetts (I wonder what became of him? - google will know) and Hillary Benn who pontificated at such length that there was no time for my question. They moved on to the amusing one they give short answers to at the end. Disappointed? Yes!

And I’m disappointed today, as the friends we were going to for supper have coughs and colds so we decided not to risk it. Normally we’d not have cared but I’m not wanting to be one of those tourists who steps up for witch doctor healing.

I have more or less packed for our departure at 3am on Sunday. This is far too early and so unlike me that I bet I’ve forgotten something important.
