Gaudy Christmas

What looks charming lit perfectly on the tree looks so tawdry on the table.  But i suppose that’s part of seeing it through the new year new me aesthetic.  Dry January is going well, feeling the need to be confessional about it so that I stick to it.  Tonight was a challenge as we went to dinner with a neighbour and I had to swap one kind of bubbles for another (Kombucha) and good red wine with an non alcoholic beer.  

Another rainy day - did some shopping for Mum and went over there with a choice of earrings to replace the ones she’s lost.  We had a nice soup lunch and watched the rain fall…again. 

Although the full moon was last night it was still rather lovely to walk the short distance home seeing it light up the fields … and also nice to walk home without it raining so we could actually see it.
