Diary of an Edinburgher

Keepers

I had a lie in today - too tempting, with all the news to catch up on. So much news! Mainly of the Harold digs a deeper hole variety as more and more snippets are released from the book.

When I was up, I wandered round the house in my new shoes. They seem OK. I took the plunge and rubbish out while wearing them. Then I noticed that DRAT! They were those kind of shoes that make your socks slide down!! Most annoying. I put different socks on and persisted. In fact, I took Archie round the block in them. Twice. So I definitely have to keep ‘em now. They’re Ecco, and I’ve had plenty of successful Ecco shoes before.

I popped in to see Pip. Got a frantic text from Abi yesterday saying the Pip got bitten - nay - attacked, by another dog and had big bite marks on his back. (Extra 1) Vet was consulted, and they went in today (Emergency Vet, £££s). He’s on all sorts of antibiotics and pain killers, poor wee chap. The owner of the other dog, a female Labrador (!) is stunned and horrified - SO out of character for her dog. But she will pay the vet bills, of course.

Hazel and Iain popped in for a cuppa in the afternoon with the news that they’ve booked flights to Japan! Iain used to live there, so knows it well. Imagine being there during the Blossom Festival…
