what lies beneath

A quiet day today, doing stuff around the house and taking Jess out for a wander.

Took this photo in the garden of some Turkey tail growing on the trunk of the fallen copper beech. I've only ever taken pictures of the colourful topside but today I looked underneath and don't the pores look amazing?
