Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

This morning on our Links walk, Archie and I met Tosca and her mum, Uli. We often meet them in passing, but this morning we stood and chatted while the doggies played around. I haven’t seen Archie running around so much with a dog for ages. (Extra) He loves her! Uli and I had a chat - she’s a classically trained violinist, and teaches. She was going to visit her friends round the corner who are also musicians (jazz) and the parents of one of the pair are - wait for it - Cleo Laine and Johnnie Dankworth!

The upshot was that Tosca and her mum are coming for a coffee next week. I have offered to look after Tosca if the humans want to go out. This is always a wee problem… Uli has three cats, so it won’t be reciprocated. No worries, she’s a dear wee thing (the dog).

I then went to the gym. I did my circuit, and I was very puggled. I timed it right going there, and while I was there there was a very heavy downpour. Then it was sunny again when I was ready to walk to the bus. But it suddenly changed, and it poured. I got soaked!

No worries, we settled down in front of the fire (dinner was in the slow cooker) and we binged on Happy Valley and finished off Series 1. Sarah Lancashire is brilliant. I remember her as the dizzy barmaid in Coronation Street, back when it was good in the early 90s.
