Today's the day . . . . . . . . . . . for Caerlaverock

For some reason, we didn't manage a visit to the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust at Caerlaverock last year - despite the fact that we're fully paid up members.

We put that right today though as we travelled south to visit friends in the Pennines near Alston.  It was all looking good - although the weather was rather damp and grey.  All the regulars were there including Canada geese, wigeon, tufted ducks, moorhens, mute swans - and, of course, always the star of the show, the whoopers . . . . .
