Tranquility Farm

Our forecast said it would snow for three hours this morning and you could see it on radar. Not a flake reached the ground. That was good news since we were out all day. Just wish it hadn’t been in the low 30s-cold. We helped with the parish school’s ice cream social. It felt strange not having any grands come through the line. But it was heartwarming to hear so many students say please and thank you. The knights premade 252 bowls and most were taken. I had the chocolate syrup station; hubby poured strawberry and caramel syrups. From there we made a quick stop at home and then picked Brooklyn up from her Mom’s school. We brought her a nice dish of ice cream (in a small insulated cooler) from the leftovers. On our way out of her neighborhood, we passed this pasture. There were more cows/calves than shown here. I am thinking Black Angus? This calf was so cute. His mom is just outside the photo frame. The farm surrounds property belonging to The Sotterley Plantation that has historical significance in our area. Just my luck, the owner pulled out of his driveway just as I started taking pictures. He stopped to see what I was doing, hubby waved to him and he went on his way to deliver hay bales to the other side of the pasture. Hubby and I shopped at a few stores and came home for a quiet evening. My toes are starting to thaw. Hope your day was also pleasant. Thanks for the visit. Stay safe. “As a calf follows its mother among a thousand cows, so the (good or bad) deeds of a man follow him.” - Chanakya
