Gloomy in London

Today I went to meet three friends for lunch at the Oxo Tower restaurant in London on the South Bank. This is a view from the restaurant which is on the 8th floor of the OXO building. The weather was terrible, at one point we could hardly see out of the window! Also I have never seen so many big puddles everywhere on the south bank walkways that we had to avoid .

We had a very nice lunch..it was a meet up of a few who did a charity bike ride from Tallin to St Petersburg in 2023. I have seen two of them in the last year but one was visiting from Edinburgh and have not seen her since before COVID, so good to catch up. A good set price 3 course menu with a drink. 3 choices for each course and they were all very well presented so better value than many high street chains.

I came across some photos from two years ago today of a grouo of six of us who cycled in central London just after the end of the second lockdown. There were so few people around then compared to today! Trafalgar Square was deserted and I remember we had difficulty finding someone to take our grouo phot outside Buckingham Palace as virtually no tourists then.
