1087 and later

Today we went to see the church at Boldre. The first church was on this site in 1087 and it has been update many times afterwards. Inside it is a traditional village church but we were amazed to see the huge number of gravestones, far more than I think I have ever seen. Presumably because it served a large area of the New Forest, several small villages. The latest addition to the church was a Millennium window..see extra..which depicts various symbols of the New Forest. See extra.

Not such a blue sky today but only a little drizzle. We Also went Milford on Sea for walk and views of the Needles on the Isle of Wight, and to the little port of Lymington. Lymington High Street has a good range of shops…lots of ladies clothing shops, and others aimed at tourists, but not busy today .
