Brain Food

Stayed overcast but reasonable warm all day and sunny enough for a BBQ this evening.

This time last year we had a BBQ with my brother in law who was over from Oz. Coincidentally it was my sister's wedding anniversary too....Happy Anniversary - Janet and Michael...28 years today(child bride!!!). 28 years ago was also the last ever Scotland vs England home international. My dad was gutted that his daughter's wedding coincided with this annual event! Rumour had it English FC could no longer afford to replace the goalposts that were nicked !

My Secondary school was right next door to an Italian Bakers. In those days dinner money was 15p, You could get a roll and chips for 10p, and still have 5p left to get a 'doughring' from their shop. A whole generation of teenagers grew up on the deliciousness (don't tell our parents - they probably thought we were going to school dinners for Incy-Wincy-Mincy and Lumpy-bump-Custard! (apologies to Singing Kettle fans).

This afternoon we stopped in at the much touted donut shop that has just opened in Edinburgh - to see what all the fuss was about. They were not too bad - but not worth sitting in the slowest Drive-thru (probably) in the world!

No 1 has her last Standard Grade tomorrow (Physics) I thought they would help her concentrate in her studies! They were also very helpful in teaching No 3 all about fractions ! She worked out she could have a quarter of four different ones to make one whole one!

Also proves the Theory of Relativity. The more of them I ate the bigger my waistline!
