From the dark corner.....

A slow day....

I can't remember the last time I had such a lazy day. I woke at 5:30 to the sound of rain running down the window and sighed with relief as the realisation hit me that it was a Bank Holiday. There was no chance of going back to sleep though. Typical! I'll be desperate for those extra couple of hours tomorrow when I do have to work...

It rained until well into the afternoon here in Ayr but after 2pm I could hear bagpipe music from the grounds of the Savoy Park hotel next door and as if by magic, the sun came out! Sure enough, another beautiful wedding reception was beginning when I went out with mom for a stroll. I resisted the urge to take pictures hurrying past the handsome groom dressed in kilt and blazer with his beautiful bride in shimmering white; bridesmaids in violet and page boys in little kilts with smart black waistcoats.

When my parents got married the year before I was born, dad wore his army uniform instead of a kilt even though he was an Edinburgh man. Mind you, it was December! I have a kilt buried in the wardrobe in Brum which dad's half sister bought me. With the heavy pleat standing out and my knitting needle legs dangling below, I looked more like a standard lamp so I have only worn it a couple of times.

We just did a circuit of the town and then came back via the beach so I could watch the ships heading towards Arran. I have been here three days now and haven't posted any seagull pictures! Aren't you worried?

Track? Here's some Joe Bonamassa for a change to go with my slow day - Sloe Gin
