Tallinn tourists

Day 6 Tallinn Estonia
We docked early and after breakfast took the shuttle bus that drops us just outside the old town . We wandered up Pikk ( Long) Street, which has many tall pointed roofed merchants houses and guilds.
We then made our way up Toompea ( Castle) Hill to the Orthodox Cathedral built 1894, with its 4 distinctive domes. Inside was ornate and mysterious ( no photos)
We then headed down to the Dome church , Lutheran , decorated with many coats of arms of the guilds and prominent families. There was organ practice going on which was lovely.
Next stop was the Niguliste church , now a museum where after looking at the medieval altar pieces , Danse Macabre and silver we took the glass lift to the top of the tower giving us the most stunning views of Tallinn, really worthwhile . ( the orthodox cathedral in image)!
After that we went to the Town Hall Square, full of medieval buildings including the town pharmacy dating from 1422.
By now we were ready for lunch and headed back to Balmoral for replenishing!
This afternoon we went up the city wall towers and browsed the souvenir shops.
Tallinn has exceeded expectation; a fairytale city indeed.
